It's a boy!

As you all know, on Thursday we received visual confirmation that the baby is a boy. We got it from multiple angles, most of which he may be embarassed about some day.

The baby's is John Michael Allard, but we're going to call him Jack since John and Jay are already taken. I was recently reminded that our nephew, Drew, wanted to name his new baby brother "jack" prior to his birth. Amy and Danny went with "Dylan" instead. Maybe this new Jack will help appease the young Drew.

I asked the Dr. if there's anyway to tell if Jack is the anti-christ, but she said no. The ultrasound doesn't reveal that kind of detail, so all we can do is hope. (Incidentally, after Gina used the lady's room, a nurse asked if she saved a sample. She didn't. She wasn't aware that she was supposed to. I suggested that there might be some left on the seat. The nurse didn't even acknowledge the comment.)

We have a bunch of blurry ultrasound pictures that I'd like to scan and post. I was actually getting a little woozy waching the ultrasound... motion sick or something, which is unusual for me when I'm not actually moving.

I actually created this blog several months ago, but Gina was treating the pregnancy like a national secret. I didn't want to disrupt her curtain of stealth by allowing someone to accidentally come across this blog. But at 5+ months, the cat is finally out of the bag.
